Marble is metamorphic rock that composed primarily of the mineral calcite and also contains some other minerals such as micas, quartz, iron oxides, graphite, pyrite and clay minerals. In other words; marble is a rock that forms while limestone is subjected to the pressure and heat of metamorphism.

Marble is probably the most famous and used natural stones since its usage begins. Marble has many unique and significant properties that make it a valuable natural stone in many different industries such as, cosmetics, architecture and of course sculpture.

Marble is found in various places in every continents of the world. It can be find easy but quality of the rock determines its value in the market globally. Turkey has quite large natural stone reserves that are 40% in the world and probably the vast majority of these reserves are marble. Some of the recent places are; Balıkesir, Burdur, Isparta, Aksaray and Antalya.

First step of the mining process is start with locating a potential quarry area. Once marble potential vein has been located with helps of geologist, digging the quarry has begin after applying all required licences. After all these preparing process finally marble able to extracted as desired cubic block size that usually weight between 6.000 and 13000 kg. After blocks extracted from quarry, they will go through beyond processing for various required purpose such as ; tile, slab or smaller blocks. After that, they goes to polishing process that only 1% of the surface will be coated in raisin, maintaining purity of the final shape of the natural stone.

After all these processes of harvesting of marble, prepared end products can finally meet their buyers in various colors.
